Councillor Wyness provided a traditional land acknowledgement.

Mayor Gondek and Councillor Dhaliwal recognized Sikh Heritage Month. 

Mayor Gondek recognized National Volunteer Week.

Mayor Gondek recognized W.O. Mitchell Book Prize finalists, Joshua Whitehead, Suzette Mayr, and Vivek Shraya.

Mayor Gondek recognized National Poetry Month and Calgary's Poet Laureate, Wakefield Brewster. 

Poet Laureate Wakefield Brewster, Professional Poet & Spoken Word Artist, presented a poem entitled "Black Lit" to Council.
