Regional Recreation Study - Phase Two Grant Application, IGA2018-1398

  That with respect to Report IGA2018-1398, the following be approved:

  That the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee recommend that Council:

  1. Approve The City of Calgary's involvement in an Alberta Community Partnership grant application for a project that would be a collaboration between The City of Calgary, Rocky View County and the City of Chestermere with the project titled: Regional Recreation Study of Calgary Municipal Region - Phase 2; and
  2. Direct Administration to bring a report on the project outcomes to the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee upon completion of the project.

  Now therefore be it resolved that Administration work with Rocky View County to develop a Terms of Reference for a potential Intermunicipal Development Plan review project and return to Council for further direction through the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee no later than Q3 of 2019.

  And further be it resolved that the closed meeting discussions with respect to Referred Report C2018-1373 be held confidential pursuant to Sections 21 and 24 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

City of Calgary, City of Chestermere Direction (Verbal), VR2018-021

• Moved by Councillor Carra

  That with respect to Verbal Report VR2018-0121, the following be approved:

  That the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee recommend that Council:

  1. Direct Administration, (Planning and Development) to send a report on the Intermunicipal Interface Project to the February 4, 2019 Combined Meeting of Council recommending that the three directions coming from the December 7, 2018 Calgary-Chestermere Intermunicipal Committee (to affirm the vision, confirm the timeline, and accept the implementation strategies) for council approval; and
  2. Direct Administration (Transportation), to begin discussions with Chestermere Administration exploring the possibility of transit service between Calgary and Chestermere and report back to IGA with an update on discussions in Q4 2019.
