Councillor Sutherland called the Meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.

ROLL CALL

Councillor Davison, City Manager Designate Chrusch, and Councillor Sutherland.

Councillor Sutherland provided opening remarks.

    That the Agenda for the 2021 September 17 Business Advisory Committee be confirmed.

The following speakers addressed Committee with respect to Report BAC2021-1391:

  3. Patti Pon, Calgary Arts Development Corporation
  4. Annie MacInnis, Kensington Business Revitalization Zone

A letter dated September 17, 2021 to Minister D. Schweitzer, Minister of Jobs, Economy and Innovation, was distributed with respect to Report BAC2021-1391.

    That with respect to Report BAC2021-1391, the following be approved:

    That the Business Advisory Committee request Councillor Sutherland, Chair, to send the letter that was distributed at today's Meeting, to Minister D. Schweitzer, Minister of Jobs, Economy and Innovation.

    That with respect to Report BAC2021-1391, the following be approved:

    That the Business Advisory Committee request that Administration provide a Memo to Council no later than 24 September 2021 outlining what would be required in an enforceable municipal vaccine verification bylaw and an implementation timeline, with the intent that such a bylaw be implemented as soon as possible.  The Mayor will consider to call a council meeting to debate and vote on the potential bylaw.

    That with respect to Report BAC2021-1391, the following be approved:

    That the Business Advisory Committee request Administration to use the funding available through the Calgary Covid Business Support Program to help businesses with the costs associated with implementing any type of vaccine verification program, including the provincial Restriction Exemption Program.
