CALL TO ORDER

Councillor Sharp called the meeting to order at 9:35 a.m.

Councillor Sharp provided opening remarks and a traditional land acknowledgement.

Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Event Centre Committee, 2023 March 10

The Minutes of the 2023 March 10 Regular Meeting of the Event Centre Committee were corrected, On page 3, following the Motion to go into Closed Meeting at Item 10, to note the following Councillors joining and leaving the meeting, as follows:

Councillor Spencer (Remote Member) joined the meeting at 11:05 a.m.
Councillor Mian (Remote Member) left the meeting at 11:21 a.m.
Councillor Wyness (Remote Member) left the meeting at 11:29 a.m.
Councillor Spencer (Remote Member) left the meeting at 12:03 p.m.

  That the Minutes of the 2023 March 10 Regular Meeting of the Event Centre Committee be confirmed, as corrected.

  That pursuant to Sections 16 (Disclosure harmful to business interests of a third party), 24 (Advice from officials), 25 (Disclosure harmful to economic and other interests of a public body), and 27 (Privileged information) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Committee now move into Closed Meeting at 9:38 a.m., in the Council Boardroom, to discuss confidential matters with respect to Item 10.1.1, Event Centre Update (Verbal), ECC2023-0352.

  Committee reconvened in public meeting at 11:54 a.m. with Councillor Sharp in the Chair.

​People in attendance during the Closed Meeting discussions with respect to Confidential Verbal Report ECC2023-0352:

​The following documents were distributed with respect to Confidential Verbal Report ECC2023-0352:

• A Confidential Presentation entitled "Event Centre Update (Verbal) - Confidential"; and
• A Confidential Document entitled "Amendment - Confidential Distribution".

• Moved by Public Member Yedlin

  That with respect to Confidential Verbal Report ECC2023-0352, the Event Centre Committee approve the following, after amendment:

  That the Event Centre Committee recommend that Council:

  1. Receive the Confidential Verbal Report and Confidential Distributions for the Corporate Record;
  2. Adopt the Confidential recommendation in the Confidential Distribution entitled "Amendment - Confidential Distribution"; and
  3. Direct that the Closed Meeting discussions and Confidential Distributions remain confidential pursuant to Sections 16 (Disclosure harmful to business interests of a third party), 24 (Advice from officials), 25 (Disclosure harmful to economic and other interests of a public body), and 27 (Privileged information) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, to be reviewed by 2025 December 31.
