Councillor Davison was elected, by acclamation, as Acting Vice Chair for today's Meeting.

    That the Agenda for today's Meeting be amended by bringing forward and referring Report PUD2018-0379 to the Administration for further consultation with external Stakeholders and to return to Council, through the 2018 June 14 Regular Meeting of the SPC on Planning and Urban Development.

    That the SPC on Planning and Urban Development recommends that Council:

    1. Approve the Scope of Work outlined in Attachment 1 and direct Administration to report back to Council through the SPC on Planning and Urban Development no later than Q4 2019.

    2. Approve, as amended, the Main Streets implementation plan as shown in Attachment 2.

    That with respect to Report PUD2018-0475, the following be approved:


    That the Standing Policy Committee on Planning and Urban Development:

    1. Direct Administration to:

    a. prepare an amending bylaw to Land Use Bylaw 1P2007 as outlined as proposed text in Attachment 1;

    b. forward the proposed bylaw directly to the Public Hearing of Council no later than 2018 June 11 to accommodate the required advertising; and

    2. Recommend that Council hold a Public Hearing and give three readings to the proposed Land Use Bylaw Amendment.

    That with respect to Report PUD2018-0381, the following be approved:

    That the Standing Policy Committee on Planning and Urban Development:

    1. Direct Administration to:
      1. prepare an amending bylaw to Land Use Bylaw 1P2007, as outlined in Attachment 1;
      2. prepare amendments to the Calgary Third Party Advertising Sign Guidelines, as outlined in Attachment 3; and
      3. forward this report, with the proposed bylaw and guideline amendments, directly to the 2018 June 11 Public Hearing of Council to accommodate the required advertising.
    2. Recommend that Council hold a Public Hearing and adopt and give three readings to the proposed amending bylaw. 
    3. Recommend that Council adopt by resolution, amendments to the Calgary Third Party Advertising Sign Guidelines in Attachment 3.
