Councillor Penner called the meeting to order at 9:31 a.m.

Councillor Penner (Remote Member) vacated the Chair at 9:32 a.m. and Councillor Wong assumed the Chair. 

Councillor Wong provided opening remarks and a traditional land acknowledgement.

    That with respect to Report CD2023-0004, the following be approved:

    That the Community Development Committee recommend that Council:

    1. Approve the recommended Family and Community Support Services allocations of $30.1M for 2023, and $40.1M for 2024 as detailed in Attachment 2; and
    2. Authorize Administration to access up to $750,000 from the Family and Community Support Services Stabilization Fund Reserve in 2023 to fund non-profit organizations for capacity-building initiatives and responding to emerging social issues.

    That with respect to Report CD2023-0016, the following be approved:

    That the Community Development Committee recommend that Council:

    1. Appoint the nominees to each of the 15 Business Improvement Areas board of directors as set out in Attachment 2;
    2. Direct that Attachment 2 be held confidential pursuant to Section 17 (Disclosure harmful to personal privacy) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act until Council rises and reports on the matter; and
    3. Provide a letter to retiring board members to thank them for their service.
