AMENDMENT, Moved by Councillor Pincott, that Recommendation 1 in Report       CPS2016-0494, be amended, as follows:

 

  • By deleting the word “implement”, following the words “Direct Administration to”, and by substituting with the word “amend”;
  • By adding the words, “Band A, with respect to the percent discount based upon Adult Monthly Pass, from 85% to 95%, and implement” following the words “Option 1,”; and
  • By adding the words “and to return to Council with a report on funding options no later than 2016 November”, following the words “as presented in the report”.

APPROVE, AS AMENDED, Moved by Councillor Stevenson, that the Administration Recommendations contained in Report CPS2016-0494 be approved, as amended, as follows:

 

That the SPC on Community and Protective Services recommends that Council:

 

1.    Direct Administration to amend Option 1, Band A, with respect to the percent discount based upon Adult Monthly Pass, from 85% to 95%, and implement a sliding scale of three bands up to 100 per cent LICO for the Calgary Transit Low Income Monthly Pass using the recommended fee schedule as presented in the report and to return to Council with a report on funding options no later than 2016 November;

 

2.    Direct Administration to allocate the committed provincial funds outlined in Attachment 1 to the implementation of the sliding scale, while continuing to investigate a broader funding framework; and

 

3.    Direct Administration to report back with an update on the implementation and funding framework to the SPC on Community and Protective Services no later than Q4 2017.

RESIDENTIAL TRAFFIC SAFETY ENFORCEMENT, CPS2016-0562

 

APPROVE, Moved by Councillor Pootmans, that the Administration Recommendations contained in Report CPS2016-0562 be approved, as follows:

 

That the SPC on Community and Protective Services recommends that Council receive this report for information.

3.3

2016 SPORT FACILITY RENEWAL FUNDING PROGRAM RECOMMENDATIONS, CPS2016-0515

 

 

APPROVE, Moved by Councillor Carra, that the Administration Recommendations contained in Report CPS2016-0515 be approved, as follows:

 

That the SPC on Community and Protective Services recommends that Council:

 

1.    Approve Attachment 1, outlining recommended funding allocation for the 2016 Sport Facility Renewal Program, pending confirmation of project eligibility from the Government of Alberta; and

 

2.    Direct Administration to amend grant eligibility guidelines as they apply to new 2017 Sport Facility Renewal Funding Program applications:

 

a)    to only accept applications from Community Associations and Social Recreation

Groups, and;

b)    to decrease minimum project cost to $200 thousand; and

c)    to increase Sport Facility Renewal Program funding ratio from 50 per cent to 75 per cent of total project cost.

APPROVE, Moved by Councillor Pincott, that the Administration Recommendation contained in Report CPS2016-0601 be approved, as follows:

 

That the SPC on Community and Protective Services recommends that Council approve a capital appropriation increase to Capital Budget Program 639 by $900,000 in 2016 to the Decidedly Jazz Dance Centre Project from the Cultural Municipal Sustainability Initiative program, subject to approval by the Government of Alberta.
